Choosing the right combination of treatments can be a difficult task. Treatments options fall into a range of categories and most people know the terms "traditional" and "holistic". We are all familiar with the traditional methods of treatment that we find at our local veterinary office such as surgery and palliative (i.e., drugs to mask and take away certain symptoms). There are also specialty clinics that provide radiation and chemotherapy. Vets usually offer few other options to pet owners. For many people these choices are too limiting, expensive, painful, or do not offer much hope for their animal’s time and quality of life. Many alternative methods are available and they may be used on their own or in combination with traditional treatments. Combing through the seemingly endless list of alternative treatments, supplements, and herbal remedies as well as non-invasive healing techniques such as energy work and electromagnetics can be a daunting and time consuming task. Each healing method has its pros and cons and combinations of these may be right for some animals and not others. It’s important to look at the animal’s personality, other health issues, goals, human personality, financial resources, type of cancer and a variety of other factors when putting together your treatment plan for your animal. If you need ideas, help sorting the facts from the fiction, help coping with what you're going through, an understanding shoulder to lean on, information on what works and what doesn't and how to best make decisions, we're here to help.
